Monday, 21 November 2022, is a day that the people of Cianjur will never forget. At 13.21 WIB, an earthquake of ​​5.6 magnitudes with a depth of 10 km occurred in the Cianjur area. The quake caused as many as 321 deaths and injured thousands. One of the communities affected by the earthquake was Beragam’s supplier of palm sugar.

Several months ago, we had the opportunity to learn a lot about palm sugar processing and the daily life of farmers in Cianjur. It was such heartbreaking news about the earthquake that hit the area. Many people moved to help the victims affected by the Cianjur earthquake to ease the moral and material burden they were currently experiencing. Beragam worked together with Toko Kopi Tuku to donate to the location of Kampung Cijeblog, Desa Peuteuy Condong, Kecamatan Cibeber, Kabupaten Cianjur. It was a form of our mutual concern and to realize the vision of being a good neighbor (#BertetanggaBaik).

Our arrival was greeted warmly and enthusiastically by the people there. It was because, at that time, the affected palm sugar farmers had yet to receive any assistance from the government, the private sector, or other social communities. The donation we made aims to recover the victims after the disaster occurred. We also assist in repairing public facilities as a stage of post-recovery aid so that the community can return to being socially and economically independent.
